Myotherapy

Myotherapy is an evidence-based manual hands-on therapy, which focuses on prevention, treatment and management of musculoskeletal pain and associated dysfunction, affecting muscles, nerves, joints or posture imbalances.

Treatment applications may include, however are not limited to, dry needling, exercise and rehabilitation planning, massage therapy and joint mobilisation.
Treatments can prevent or rehabilitate acute or chronic pain, restore muscle strength, improve flexibility and increase range of movement.

What to expect in a Myotherapy treatment:

After thoroughly discussing the completed Client Health and History form with the client, the therapist performs comprehensive assessments of both posture and the presenting complaint. This may include muscle strength tests, to evaluate muscle weaknesses and imbalances.

Together the therapist and client discuss the goals and best suitable treatment plan for the client, before beginning hands-on treatment. At the conclusion of the treatment, the therapist follows up with a re-assessment of posture and the presenting complaint.

Flow of Life Myotherapy has a strong focus on clients’ continued self-care including postural awareness, and provides helpful lifestyle advice, along with tailored corrective and rehabilitative exercises for long term results.

Treatment plans and exercises will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.

Our goal is to help you get back to doing the things you love.
